This workshop is designed to provide practitioners with a sophisticated understanding of how to help clients identify, understand, and effectively shift their emotional responses while building a lifestyle that supports long-term emotional stability.
What We Will Cover:
The Model of Emotions: Learn to teach clients the functions of emotions and how to identify the "prompting events" and "interpretations" that lead to emotional dysregulation.
Reducing Vulnerability: Master the ABC PLEASE skills. Gain clinical tools to help clients build a "life worth living" by accumulating positive experiences and attending to physical health as a foundation for emotional resilience.
Changing Emotional Responses: Deep dive into Opposite Action and Checking the Facts. Learn how to coach clients to act against ineffective emotional urges when their emotions do not fit the facts of a situation.
Managing Extreme Emotions: Master advanced Self-Management techniques, including "Riding the Wave" of emotion and using structured Behavioral Chain Analysis to identify points of intervention in complex emotional cycles.
