Meet Stacy & Kristin
Stacy Phillips, LPC-MHSP, S, C-DBT
Stacy Phillips, M.A., LPC-MHSP, S, C-DBT, is a licensed mental health counselor, clinical supervisor, and consultant with nearly 15 years of experience supporting therapists as they grow, develop clinical confidence, and build meaningful, sustainable careers in the mental health field. She holds a Master’s degree in Professional Counseling and is currently pursuing her PhD in Psychology with a concentration in Organizational Psychology and Healthcare Leadership. Her research focuses on identifying ways to strengthen the systems that support clinicians, with the goal of creating healthier, more sustainable environments for both mental health professionals and the communities they serve.
Stacy is certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has completed extensive training in Personality Disorders, Integrative Mental Health, and Clinical Trauma. She is passionate about translating complex clinical concepts into practical, grounded tools that help therapists feel more confident and effective in their work.
Throughout her career, Stacy has served in leadership roles including Clinical Team Lead, Clinical Director, and Site Director. In these roles, she has trained and supervised clinicians, built clinical programs from the ground up, strengthened treatment teams, and supported organizations in developing systems that truly support the people doing the work. If you’ve ever felt like the mental health system wasn’t built with therapists in mind, Stacy has likely tried to address that very challenge.
She founded The Clinician’s Compass to provide what many therapists wish they had from the beginning of their careers: accessible continuing education, honest professional community, grounded consultation, and practical tools to help clinicians build careers that feel aligned with their values rather than draining them.
In her private practice in Franklin, Stacy works primarily with women navigating complex trauma, mood concerns, and relationship patterns. She also has a particular passion for supporting fellow therapists who are experiencing burnout, compassion fatigue, or the “I love this work, but it’s exhausting” feeling that many clinicians quietly carry.
Stacy’s work is rooted in the belief that when therapists feel supported, confident, and authentic in their roles, clients ultimately receive better care and the field becomes stronger. Her broader professional interests include addressing systemic challenges within the mental health profession, strengthening professional development pathways, and promoting ethical, sustainable practice across clinical settings.
When she’s not creating curriculum, teaching, meeting with clients, or working on her doctoral research, you’ll likely find Stacy in her home studio making music or filming lighthearted comedy sketches with friends—a reminder that creativity, connection, and joy are just as important for therapists as they are for the clients they serve.
